Report on interaction with Japanese

A discussion on the trends of higher education system in India and Japan was conducted in the seminar hall 2nd block, CUFE on 25/06/2015 that gave an insight about different things comparable in the two countries. Initially, the entire team was gladly received byDr.Iven Jose,Mr.BalachandranK and Ms.MerinSebastian.The delegates for the day was Mr.Ippei Nishida, Mr.TetsuyaMiyahara,Mr.ArtaMakino,Mr.KatsunoriWatanable , and Mr.YosukeNatami who are working in Kabusikigaisha System Consultant and currently doing their business training in SCII,System Consultant Information India. They were accompanied by a team from SCII which includes CEO of SCII,Mr. Alexander C. Varkey. After the formal discussion they were taken for a campus tour followed by the discussion on higher education in India and Japan. The agenda for the day was a presentation by the delegates on what is learning? What is work?” and interaction with the students on “Higher education in India and Japan”.The discussion was between students of final year M.Tech, final year B.Tech and Japan delegates.

The entire session was divided into two:
Starting with a brief presentation by Japanesedelegates:
They started with their introduction and they gave the insight of the KSC, Tokyo that was established in 1968. Where they explained how the company is well settled and growing across the globe, and they have a branch inTumkur,India where they are there for business training in SCII. After completing their introduction from where they belong and what they are, then they started with a question “what is learning? What is work?” To this they answered about how education is in Japan and how was their recruitment been processed.

The discussion continued withthe topic on higher studies in India and Japan:
We were divided into two groups and we started the discussion with introduction followed by the questions on higher education and job opportunities. This helped us to understand there are two streams technical and non-technical where the IT Company doesn’t restrict them to choose only science subjects, but the ratio of people who do higher study compared to India is less. After this we had a discussion on job hopping where we found it is less in Japan but more carrier support is given in India.
At the end of the session we briefed about the discussion we had. The whole session was interactive and very informative that helped us to understand a different culture and the education system. This helped to understand that Japan is famous for mechanical engineering and innovations but at the same time India stands third largest in the world in terms of higher education. Some methods which the Japanese are rich in may be adopted by the Indian system and vice versa. Everyone had a wonderful time having an immensely interesting talk with the foreign people and also absorbed a lot many things from both the side. The entire discussion ended up by a concluding speech followed by vote of thanks.
